With only one loss the entire weekend, Alex became the first NFL sized linebacker to win the DSM MVP.

This year’s MVP was a tight race with: Luke Francois from Team Tilson and Matt Bushbaum, Caleb Bushbaum, Alex Boer, Brett Decker and Lance Johnson all scoring 4 points.

Alex will house the cup until 2024, and it will be visibily noticeable on all zoom calls he attends.

In what can only be described as an imitation of Iowa football’s offense, Team Tilson put up the first goose egg in Ryder Cup History. All 6 Team Bushbaum pairings came away with victories, which set the tone for what was to come throughout the next 36 holes.

Team Tilson 3.5 - Team Bushbaum 2.5

Team Tilson took home their only session victory of the weekend with a narrow 3.5-2.5 edge during alternate shot.

3 straight wins to start the session, along with a halve by Liske/Griffith vs. Corpstein and Caleb Bushbaum secured the 1 point advantage as Team Tilson tried to chip away at Team Bushbaum’s lead.

Singles I

Team Bushbaum 7 - Team Tilson 5

Team Bushbaum put a stop to any sort of comeback by increasing their lead to 15.5 to 8.5 to end day 1. Led by upset victories by Sam Ross over, previously undefeated in singles, Tubaugh and Decker over Griffith they secured a 2 point session victory.

Best Ball

Team Bushbaum 4.5 - Team Tilson 1.5

Team Tilson tried mounting a comeback, taking the first session, but Team Bushbaum ended strong with 4 straight winning pairings. The Ross and Bushbaum brothers secured two points, along with powerhouse pairing of Decker/Boer and Conrad/Johson. Although the cup wasn’t officially secured afte the front 9, Team Bushbaum was on the doorstep of victory.

Singles II

Team Bushbaum 6.5 - Team Tilson 5.5

Team Tilson only needed 1.5 points to retain the cup and secured the victory with Johnson over Liske in match 5.

Although Team Tilson tried to make the score a bit better with impressive wins by Boom and Ford, Boer finished the cup with a win on hole 18 to secure the session in Team Bushbaum’s favor.

Team Bushbaum won 4 out of 5 sessions over the weekend for an impressive 11 point victory. Led by A. Ross (MVP), Boer, Decker, Ca. Bushbaum and M. Bushbaum’s 4 points each, this was the most dominant victory to date. With their win, the series is now tied 2-2 as we approach 2024!
